New Product Development Manager

As CAF’s New Product Development Manager, you’ll bring your advanced problem-solving skills to a dynamic, fast-paced and rapidly growing company.  We’re looking for a highly driven individual to provide leadership and direction to the new product development process, overseeing the daily operations of the product development lifecycle and execution of successful product launches. This person will also be responsible for ensuring that all CAF employees are trained on the products while achieving and maintaining established goals. This position will include preparing and completing action plans; implementing productivity, quality, and product standards; resolving problems; completing quality audits; identifying product improvements; and implementing change.

Put simply, CAF is looking for:

  1. “The Tinkerer” – someone who possesses a mechanical (and puzzle-solving) aptitude and the desire to roll up their sleeves to get things done
  2. “The Researcher” – someone who can go toe-to-toe with academic community and be one with the “books”
  3. “The Product (Sales) Evangelist” – this person can construct a better sale story than Sales can present to their customers!
  4. “The Product Financial Analyst” – can assure no dead-ends, rabbit-holes, or misfires!...

The New Product Development Manager reports directly to CAF’s Director of Products and Marketing, Riley Tubbs. Your Core Responsibilities

  • You’ll manage and participate with the product development team in executing CAF Product Management process, goals and objectives
  • You’ll be responsible for developing, implementing and executing CAF’s go to market product strategy

A Preview of Your Day-to-Day:

Research and Development

  • Knowledge of product development and lifecycle management process
  • Experience gathering requirements including business case development, functional product development, and technical expertise
  • Manage product packaging process and timeline based on production needs

Market Research & Analysis

  • Research and monitor industry developments
  • Monitor and analyze branded and competitive activity by utilizing point of purchase data 
  • Monitor sales activity, work with the finance team to analyze results and identify areas of risk and opportunities
  • Analyzing market data pre and post launch
  • Develop recommendations based on findings
  • Help manage the Marketing team’s activities and projects, providing direction for necessary marketing materials and packaging development 

Prototyping and UX (User Experience)

  • Experience in developing and managing products, utilizing consumer usage, attitudes, needs and wants for product development direction
  • Work with customers to test and gather feedback

Scientific Testing

  • Experience with primary product development as well as reverse engineering existing products
  • Work with labs to test prototypes

Product Launch and Support

  • Build, manage and provide tactical & strategic leadership
  • Launch new products by having full ownership of product development and operational activities to deliver high quality products to market
  • Develop core positioning and messaging for the product
