Your Cstore Spring Cleaning Checklist

Your Cstore Spring Cleaning Checklist

Believe it or not, it’s time to start thinking about cstore spring cleaning - a chance to clean up after a cold winter and make a positive first impression. You owe it to yourself and your customers. Looking to roll out a fresh foodservice program this Spring? A great food court begins with a clean forecourt. We know cleaning can feel like an overwhelming project - Spring Cleaning isn't something to dread.

Not sure where to start? No worries! We've put together a shortlist to ensure you don't miss a thing!

Make a Schedule Scope out your store: What areas need the most work? Where do you skip during routine cleaning? Those are the best places to start. Regardless of where you start, having a plan for when you’re tackling each area will keep you focused on the task at hand. Our printable Cleaning Checklist can help.

Focus on Customer Touch-Points If 70% of customers never come inside the store, your pump handles are your only customer handshake. Are the nozzles free of grease and grime? Diesel pumps can accumulate thick buildup over the winter. Use a quality degreaser to ensure a positive customer experience.

De-Clutter Studies have shown that a disorganized store adds to the stress level of your customers. Spend some time organizing your shelves, aisles, and counters to eliminate unnecessary stress.

Restrooms This part of your store needs attention several times a day. Even with regular cleaning, grime and dirt can accumulate in places. Use a disinfectant cleaner to make sure your restrooms are always customer-ready.

Always Work from Top to Bottom When you think about how to spring clean your store it’s important to start from the ceiling down. This will force debris downward and keep you from having to re-dust or re-clean your space.

Squeegee Buckets If your pump handles are your site's handshake, then the squeegee buckets are the high-five. A fuel station without a quality squeegee bucket is like a Twinkie with no cream filling. Make sure that your squeegee handles are clean and in good shape. Do your squeegee buckets stink? Take 15 minutes to empty and clean your squeegee buckets. A little effort here will pay dividends!

Think Green When You Spring Clean You want to start spring off on a clean note, so don’t expose yourself to chemicals and toxins. Look for products with ingredients that won't harm the environment. Using concentrates will cut back on waste produced and reduces your environmental footprint.

Take a Walk Walk your site and try to look through your customers' eyes. Is the paint on your bollards chipped? Do you have graffiti on your building or dispensers? How do the garbage cans look? Check for dead lightbulbs. Fixing the little things can do wonders for the overall appearance and image of your c-store.
